Article 1 The Measures are formulated in accordance withthe Trial Measures for Chinese Degree Award to International Students in Chinaby Regular Institutions of Higher Education (Degree [1991] No.17),withreference to the implementation measures for bachelor degree award in ouruniversity and in combination with the actual situation of undergraduate internationalstudents studying in our university.
Article2 TheMeasures are applicable to the application and award of Bachelor degree and thework related to the degree of international undergraduates studying in China(hereinafter referred to as international undergraduates) who have obtained thestatus of our school.
Article3 Thedegree awarded by international undergraduates is consistent with that awardedby Chinese undergraduates of the same major in our school.
Article4 Toapply for a bachelor degree, international undergraduates must meet thefollowing conditions:
(1)Abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, abide bythe rules and regulations of the school, behave well, understand China and befriendly to China;
(2)Complete all the courses stipulated in the training plan within the prescribedmaximum length of study, pass all the examinations, obtain the minimum creditsstipulated in the professional training plan, and be allowed to graduate afterexamination;
(3)Have a certain Chinese level. For subjects (majors) taught in English, studentsshould pass HSK level four or equivalentschool-developed tests; For subjects (majors) taught inChinese, students should pass HSK level five or equivalent school-developed tests.
Article5 Abachelor degree shall not be awarded if one of the following circumstancesexists:
(1)Violate the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China and besubject to criminal punishment;
(2)Be subject to probation and above punishment during the school period;
(3)With serious academic misconduct during school;
Article6 Duringthe school period, in relation to Article 5 (2) of the Measures, if one of thefollowing conditions is met after the punishment for internationalundergraduates takes effect, they can apply for a bachelor degree after thepunishment is lifted.
(1)The GPA is 3.5 or above, and the graduation project (dissertation) score is 80or above or the GPA is 3.0 or above, and the graduation project (dissertation)score is 90 or above;
(2)Win the Chinese government scholarship, Tianjin government scholarship for internationalstudents or excellent academic scholarship;
(3)Be admitted as a graduate student;
(4)Participate in scientific and technological innovation, cultural exchanges,literature and sports and other activities at the provincial and ministeriallevel and above and win awards;
(5)With outstanding academic performance.
Article7 Thebachelor degree award for international undergraduates shall be conductedaccording to the following procedures:
(1)The international undergraduates shall apply and fill in the degree applicationform;
(2)The School of International Education shall examine and verify the internationalundergraduates submitting application, put forward bachelor degree award list,submit a list of not awarding bachelor degree, explain the reasons, and submitit to the Degree Evaluation Subcommittee of the School of InternationalEducation;
(3)The Academic Degree Evaluation Sub-Committee of the School of InternationalEducation shall discuss and deliberate, vote by secret ballot, and submit thelist of more than half votes agreeing to award the bachelor degree to theschool academic degree evaluation committee for deliberation, and award thebachelor degree after passing the vote;
(4)Announce the list of students who have been awarded bachelor degree approved bythe academic degree evaluation committee of the school;
(5)For students who have not been awarded a bachelor degree for reasons, if theyhave any objection, they can submit a written complaint to the StudentComplaint Handling Committee within 5 working days from the date ofannouncement of the list.
Article8 Theschool shall issue a bachelor degree certificate to undergraduates who haveobtained a bachelor degree.
Article9 TheMeasures shall be implemented as of June 1, 2020.
Article10 The School of International Educationshall be responsible for the interpretation of the Measures.
