In order to commemorate the 40thanniversary of Reform and Opening-up in our country, witness the rapiddevelopment and historical changes of Tianjin, and demonstrate the achievementsof Tianjin's overseas education in China, on December 28, 2018, TianjinInternational Students’ Photography Competition and Literature and Art Festivalwas held by Nankai University and sponsored by the Foreign Student EducationManagement Branch of Tianjin Institute of Higher Education. It was held in themain building auditorium of Nankai University.
This event attracted more than 300international students from 15 universities in Tianjin. School of InternationalEducation of our university has actively organized and encouraged our schoolinternational students to participate this event.
By the selection of the jury, 30 piecesof works of seven foreign students of our university have been awarded prizes.Among them, “REN WU”of RONALD MAUNZE from Zimbabwe, and “China” of ASIF AHMEDfrom Bangladesh, have won the third prize respectively. Other works of thecompetitors have won excellent prizes and commemorative prizes. Our universityalso won the honorary title of "Best University Organization Award"in this activity.
In the art performance, eightinternational students in our school dressed in Chinese classical clothes,danced with tai chi performances and ended with African dances. Their program “DEDANCE”perfectly displayed the integration of the traditional elements of the East andthe exotic customs of the West. Also, they have showed the positive spiritualoutlook of the international students in our school, and won unanimous praisefrom the judges and the audience.
School of International Education willtake this event as an opportunity to deepen international students’understanding of the great changes that have taken place in the past 40 yearssince China's Reform and Opening-up, to truly experience the great changes thathave taken place in China in the past 40 years, and to further strengthen thedissemination of Chinese culture among international students and to create adiversified learning atmosphere.
