With the purpose of promoting cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, carrying forward splendid Chinese traditional culture and deepening exchanges and cooperation of International Education, the “Chinese Bridge” Online Group Exchange Program themed Scientific and Technological Heritage between Traditional Architecture and New Technology was successfully concluded ,which was hosted by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of Ministry of Education and was organized by Tianjin Chengjian University. During the exchange program, over 150 students from Pakistan as well as teachers form TCU worked together to draw a blueprint for the future.
In the opening ceremony of the program, the vice president of TCU, Chen Zhihua extended a warm welcome to all the students and he said that the “Chinese Bridge” Online Group Exchange Program builds up a bridge of Cloud Service，enabling students to enjoy a journey across time and space to fully understand the artistic conception of the Chinese saying that “Distance cannot separate intimate friends even when thousands of miles apart.” All the students shall take advantage of the program to learn about and experience China in a new form and space so that they will introduce China they have seen to the world and communicate more with young people of China and finally they can commit themselves along with the youngsters of the world to building a human community with a shared future.
TCU has thoroughly studied and implemented the spirit that President Xi advocates in the reply letter to representatives of Chinese-language learners in Saudi Arabia. With excellent educational resources，we have combined the Chinese language courses and professional courses to present distinctive course project of “Chinese + Architectural Engineering” and “Chinese + Project Management”. We have offered a wide range of courses with unique feature of TCU including Art of Guqin Song：An excellent Representative of Chinese Traditional Culture，Underground Space Development and Key Technology, China’s Achievements in Civil Engineering Construction and Development，Chinese Architecture Art. By means of live stream of languages courses and recorded videos about culture，we provided students with colorful cultural feasts，allowing them to enjoy the unique beauty of Chinese ancient and modern architecture and appreciate the charm of Chinese culture.
In the closing ceremony of the program，students felt reluctant to leave and said that this learning experience can not only help to enhance their Chinese proficiency ，but also can promote their understanding of Chinese ancient and modern architecture and experience the Chinese culture of amazing depth and variety. Finally, they expressed their hope that they can come to China one day to experience the beauty of Chinese culture，savor the flavor of Tianjin and feel the charm of life in TCU. The Dean, Zhang Hai of School of International Education expressed a farewell message to the students that “If you want to walk fast, walk alone. If you want to walk far, walk together.” It is our sincere hope that everyone can take advantage of the exchange program and make efforts to become a cultural ambassador between China and Pakistan. Students are also expected to apply what they have learned to the Belt and Road Initiative so that we can build a promising future of the friendship between China and Pakistan.
The “Chinese Bridge” Online Group Exchange Program has won admiration and support of students overseas，which contributes to the exploration of training International talents in our school. In addition to spreading Chinese culture，presenting Chinese wisdom and achievements，the program also provides a platform for cultural exchange，promoting the development of International Chinese education. As the Chinese saying goes，“Learning alone without exchanges with others will lead to ignorance.” With the “Chinese Bridge” Online Group Exchange Program serving as a tie，our school will continue to promote the multi-dimensional cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries. We will use native voice of China to tell China’s stories well, shape a reliable，admirable and respectable image of China in an effort to make contributions to building the Belt and Road Initiative and a human community with a shared future.
It is known that the “Chinese Bridge” Online Group Exchange Program is a Chinese language and culture program for global Chinese lovers held by the Center for Language Education and cooperation of Ministry of Education，aiming to promote youngsters’ understanding of culture and deepen exchanges of language education between China and the world.
