This year is the 10th anniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping proposing joint initiative of “The Belt and Road”. In order to promote exchange of the Chinese culture and other foreign ones, to guide international students to better tell China’s stories and to make Chinese voice heard and to display the truthful, three-dimensional and all-around image of China, supported by Tianjin City Ninghe District Panzhuang Town Dajiazhuang Village, on October 28th , under the lead of secretary of the directly-subordinated party branch of School of International Education , Ms Bian Jinghua，all the party members of the teaching staff of the party branch, as well as more than 20 international students from 10 countries along “The Belt and Road” such as Nigeria, Zambia, Mali, Uganda, Morocco, Bengal, Nepal, Pakistan etc., came to ecological and agricultural park of Panzhuang Town Dajiazhuang Village to carry out environment-friendly village traveling and research and learning practice activity with theme of “The Belt and Road Tour to China, Beautiful Tianjin and Affection of Garden Construction”.
On the day of activity, under the in-person demonstration and patient guidance of volunteers, the teachers and international students, holding plough and rake, labored with ardor to weed, to pluck peaches, break corn, pull out scallion, dig cabbage and harvest wheat. In the park, the international students experienced a developing mode of Chinese rural and pastoral complex, which focused mainly on characteristic agriculture, social and environmental agriculture and farming experience and integrated fishing in Longfeng River, fruit and vegetable picking, farming education, outdoor parenting, rural vacationing.
Stepping on the rural land, feeling the truthful China，all the people enjoyed a good view of the countryside. The beautiful countryside in China provided the international students who are from countries along “The Belt and Road” with rare experience. Lily from Nepal said: “This is the first time for me to closely feel the field of China; the research and learning activities have established a platform for us to closely experience Chinese rural culture and the charm of Chinese traditional culture and have widened our horizons too.” Shenghui, from Nigeria, who is the student staying in China for the longest time among all the international students, said: “The villages here are quite different from those in Nigeria. It’s clean and tidy, elegant in environment, with complete supporting facilities and services, whose villagers are pleasantly resided and fine settled, a truthful representation on the rural lives that everybody yearns for. Hopefully the experience of Chinese-styled modernized rural development can provide reference and reflection on the rural revitalization in our country.”
Through this practice activities, international students were guided to deeply experience the development achievement of rural revitalization in China, to feel the development vision of colorfulness and three-dimension in Chinese countryside, to promote the knowledge and understanding on China’s condition and to enhance the internship practice ability.
Next, School of International Education will, according to the overall target and pillar tasks of “5I space and financing the system”, “TCU consensus” and “TCU movement”, further improve the level of cultivation on internationalized talents. By organizing various traditional Chinese art and cultural experience activities, it aims to enlighten internationall students by culture and educate them with beauty, allowing them to experience the charm of excellent Chinese traditional culture, further deepening their knowing and understanding of China to train their complex of knowledge, amicability and love of China, promoting international Chinese communication, cultivating international talents with complicate skills proficient in both Chinese and professional skills, and comprehensively improving the internationalization level of education. Building a high-quality and distinctive brand of "international education" assists the construction of countries along the "the Belt and Road".
