Application Guidance for Tianjin Chengjian University Freshmen Scholarship Program

1. Introduction

Tianjin Chengjian University Freshmen Scholarship is established by Tianjin Chengjian University (TCU) to attract outstanding international students for undergraduate studies in TCU. Tianjin Chengjian University Freshmen Scholarship will be given out according to the results of TCU entrance exams after students arrive and register at TCU.TCU Freshmen Scholarship winners have to pass TCU entrance exams. TCU Freshmen Scholarship is not open to those who have been awarded with Chinese Government Scholarship, Tianjin Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship, or any other scholarship.

2. Eligibility
(1) Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health
(2) Applicants should apply for undergraduate study in TCU
(3) Education background and age limit:
• Applicants for undergraduate studies must have a graduation diploma of senior high school

• be above the age of 18 and under the age of 30.

• Applicants for master studies must have a graduation diploma of bachelor degree

• be above the age of 18 and under the age of 35.

(4) Applicants must pass TCU entrance exams after registration at TCU.
(5) Applicants with strong incentive of study in Tianjin must be rated excellent in their previous study and select appropriate discipline in accordance with his/her interest and academic background with well-prepared study plan.

(6) TCU Freshmen Scholarship is not open to those who have been awarded with Chinese Government Scholarship, Tianjin Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship, or any other scholarship.

* Tuition of TCU international students is RMB20000/per academic year for bachelor program, RMB25000/per academic year for master program. Winners of 2024 TCU Freshmen Scholarship (value: RMB 10000/ one academic year for bachelor, RMB 12500/ one academic year for master) shall pay RMB 10000 for first-year tuition fee for bachelor, RMB 12500/ for master. Registration Fee, lodging fee, insurance fee and other fees are self-financed.

3. Academic programs
• English-taught Undergraduate and Postgraduate Program of Civil Engineering

• English-taught Undergraduate Program of Visual Communication Design

4. Scholarship Coverage
RMB 10000 per person for bachelor applicants of 2026 batch.

RMB 12500 per person for master applicants of 2026 batch.

5. Application deadline

 July 1, 2026before when application materials received by TCU

6. Application procedures
Applicants are eligible for scholarship assessment only after they arrive and register at TCU and pass TCU entrance exams.

1) Front page of passport, visa/residence permit (if applicable).

2) Diploma of Senior High School, or Bachelor Degree (in Chinese or English).

* If applicants can’t get Senior High School or Undergraduate Diploma when application, please provide Certificate of expected graduation issued by Senior High School or College (in Chinese or English).

3) Senior High School transcripts of every year, or Undergraduate Academic Records (in Chinese or English).

4) Certificate of National/Regional Graduation Examination/Matriculation Examination.

6) Tianjin Chengjian University Application Form for International Students

7) Accepted Student Responsibility and JW202 Release Form

8) TCU Statement of Financial Sponsorship (with official bank statement)

9) Other documents that can prove your previous education background such as Language (Chinese/English) Proficiency Certificate

7. Selection and notification
A panel of experts at TCU will screen candidates for the scholarship and decide the admission list. Admission will be decided on the basis of TCU entrance exams, the applicants’ application documents, academic performance, overall merits, research achievements and supervisors’ comments.

The admitted students should register at TCU on time and pass TCU entrance exams, then enter the final round screening. The list of nominees produced from the final screening will be submitted to TCU Scholarship Commission for final approval.
