1. Introductionof program
International students program of Civil Engineering is set up based onthe understand program of Civil Engineering, which is an English taughtprogram. All lecturers of the program are from teaching staff with excellentacademic background and good English-speaking who are collected from the wholeuniversity. The program will cultivate international students with systematicknowledge system, and practical ability. Students in this program should befriendly with China, understand Chinese policy and survey, and have a goodChinese. Meanwhile, students should have a comprehensive knowledge system inscience, engineering structure design, construction and management ofengineering structure, so that they can get basic practice, and skills ofengineers. They will look for working opportunities in design, construction,management, consulting, research, education, investment and development ofbuilding and bridge engineering.
2.Program objective
The undergraduate program of CivilEngineering makes participants have strong capabilities and innovation inengineering, which will be trained to meet the demands of globalization.Graduates will understand basic theory and basic knowledge of civilengineering, and can be engaged in design, construction, management, council,research, education, investment and development work related to civilengineering, including housing construction engineering, road and bridgeengineering, and urban underground engineering. The graduate will beinternational applied talents who have a good understanding in Chinese culture,with spirit of cooperation, ability of organization and innovation.
3.Program requirement
Graduate will have basic theory and basicknowledge in mathematics, mechanics, civil engineering materials and structuraldesign principle; receive basic training of mechanical analysis, structuraldesign, construction technology and project management, text drawingexpression, and master basic skills of civil engineering projects design,construction and organizational management, and supervision.
Graduates should have the following abilities:
1)Understanding Chinese culture, traditional philosophy and architecture culture;
2)Have professional ethics, social responsibility, and humanities and socialscience accomplishment;
3) Have a strong knowledge ofnatural science;
4) Have a solid base and analyzingability in mechanic theory;
5) Have knowledge, skills andmethodology in design and construction of civil engineering;
6) Have ability of survey anddesign in civil engineering, which can identify, analyze and compute the modelso as to get the achievement;
7) Have ability of constructionand organization of civil engineering;
8) Have a good communicationability, which can achieve a computer operation and software analysis inrelated fields;
9)Getting acquaintance advanced development of civil engineeringtheory and practice.
